Show Transcript hello Vina families this is Mr G and I'm going to be going through the steps on how to apply for the 2027 2028 school year all applications are through the Choices website which is at apply.lausd.net you will need your Parent Portal login info and once you are in you're going to navigate to the dashboard and select apply to programs from here you will select your child there is a 1 medication per student on selecting your child you'll click next and then you're going to select the 2027 2028 School confirmed that child's date of birth and then select the grade you will be applying for if you are a fifth grader then you'll be applying to sixth grade from there you'll click next you confirm the student information confirm that all information is correct and after moving on you will and that all of your information is correct correct and up to date from here you will be able to select a program if you are selecting a magnet program you will be clicking on the magnet icon and then clicking next um likewise for all the other programs and for transportation from here you will be selecting a school uh it is important to note that for magnet programs you can make a maximum of 3 choices it will go based off of your priority list so the school that you choose first will be your first priority second choice and then third choice uh again second and third choice are optional if there's 1 school that you really want to get into set it as your main priority if you do have other schools that you would be equally excited to uh be enrolled in to then you can set those as your second or third choice after selecting your schools if you do need blessing you can always go back and select the permits with transportation to request busing after you finish the application once you have finished the application or once you have finished selecting your schools it will then take you to this screen which is asking if your child is placed on a waiting list do you want his or her name to be shared with other schools that may have available space uh all this is is it does create a list for other schools to let them know that students are in a waiting list to be able to offer or call and offer what they have available at their school from there that will lead us to the terms and conditions page please read through this um really it's stating that deadline to submit for choices is today starts opens today October 1st and will close on November 6th all students or all families that apply between October 1st and November 6th are on equal footing it is not on first come first serve basis um all Communications from this year moving forward are digital uh there will not be a letter sent hold everything will be communicated through Parent Portal once you have read through all the terms and conditions you will select I agree and then submit and upon clicking submit it will take you to the congratulatory page let you know that your application has been submitted it will give you pay confirmation number uh and we'll give you the option to either print the confirmation page so you can have it for your records or edit your application thank you so much
